And its root root root for the home team??

The Indians enter a double header tonight in Seattle, as the home team for the first game. If it wasn’t weird enough playing as the home team in Milwaukee earlier this year, at least we didn’t have a crowd cheering against us. Tonight, though, we’ll be a home team without a home crowd. What an oxymoron.
On a side note, it seems as though Joe Borowski has returned to his old ways last night, giving up a two run jack in the 9th inning. At least he’s getting his kinks out before the post season. Hopefully, he’ll return to form for the post season. At least we won in order to maintain the best record in baseball.
JoBo strikes again
If you don’t believe in Joe Borowski now, you are crazy. Leading the AL with 43 saves. 3 more saves and he’ll tied the now and forever hated Jose Mesa for the Indians all time leader. I don’t care what the media says about his ERA, he is the best closer in the AL. Period. He gets the job done. It may not be pretty always, but he does it.
Fab Fausto became MLB’s 5th 18 game winner. Although his outing was short tonight with only 6 innings pitched, it was quality. His only bad inning was the second inning where he gave up 1 run. His problem was he gave up 4 BB. That along with his 7 Ks drove up his pitch count which took him out of the game early. Still, though, his start was solid again proving why Fausto is a candidate for the AL Cy Young.
Again, though, Sizemore continues to scare me. Adding two more K’s to his stats tonight, he’s right behind Jack Cust for the league lead. We cannot have Grady continue to struggle going into the postseason.
Speaking of the playoffs, barring a major disaster, the Tribe should be in a good position to get the best record in MLB. That being the case, as much as I hate to say it, I hope the Yankees win the AL East crown. As much as I hate the Yankees, right now, I’d rather face the Red Sox in the first round. It looks like anyway, we’ll have to face an AL East opponent in the first round. I’d much rather face a struggling Red Sox team, than a surging Yankee team. We’ll just have to see how the cards fold, though.
Magic number is 2. It’s too bad KC couldn’t hold on tonight, but the magic number is 2. Oh my, the AL Central Crown is so close I can almost taste it. And look there now, the Angels lost the Seattle. That means, the Indians still have a chance to be the first team to clinch a playoff birth and now solely own the best record in MLB.
