The Rally Pies will continue into the postseason

There was some debate as to whether Ben Francisco would make the Indians 5th outfield spot on postseason roster over veteran Trot Nixon. Tribe manager Eric Wedge said earlier that he would not turn his postseason roster decisions into MLB until this morning. While the only other question was whether Wedge would elect to go with pitcher Cliff Lee over rookie Aaron Laffey. That question was quelled after Sunday’s victory over KC when Laffey slipped and told the media.

Many Tribe fans will obviously be upset with the decision to put Nixon on the roster over Francisco. Trot’s numbers have been below average all year---he’s only batting .251 and has been a disappointing investment. But I’d rather have Trot Nixon on my roster over Francisco. Sure, Francisco had solid numbers earlier this year before the Indians acquired Kenny Lofton from the Rangers, but he lacks playoff experience. Trot Nixon has won a ring with Boston. He knows playoff baseball and I think he might have a chance to come through clutch for us. Sure, that chance is small, but in a game 7, I’d rather use a veteran who will not crumble under pressure. Also, Trot is a morale booster. What would the postseason be without the King of the Rally Pie?

On that note, I’m signing off for now. Time for CC to come through big and show the Yankees its TRIBE TIME NOW! I’ll be back later to give the complete post game report.

Well, hopefully the Tribe can do what my Halos couldn't yesterday... beat one of the AL East teams.

Good matchup tonight with Wang and Sabathia. I didn't know that C.C. hasn't pitched against the Yankees since 2004...

Let's start the trend tonight! Down with the AL East!
